Text | Private family services will be held at a later date for David Hancock Kale, 66, of Roswell, who passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010. Interment will be held at Western Carolina State Veteran Cemetery, Black Mountain, N.C. David was born May 18, 1943, in Charlotte, N.C. He moved to Roswell 16 years ago, coming from Ashville, North Carolina. David was a 26-year Veteran of the United States Navy. He retired as a Chief Navy Officer. David completed two Viet-Nam tours. He had a strong passion and devotion to the military. He also loved to golf. He is survived by his wife, Frances McClain Kale of the family home, one son; David Wayne Kale and his wife, Brenda, of Pennsylvania, one daughter; Valorie Kale Smith of Pensacola, Fl., two sisters; Yvonne Manning and her husband, Tom, of Charlotte, N.C., and Patricia Brewer of Raleigh, N.C., one brother; Richard Kale of Washington, three grandsons; Kristopher and Justin Olander and David Kale Jr., four granddaughters; Meagan and Skyler Kale and Fancy and Lacie Smith. David is preceded in death by his mother Vada H. Kale, three brothers, Cecil Eddelman, Hank and Wayne Kale and one sister, June Youngblood.
